Attorney Spouses Eligible for Fee Awards in Civil Rights Cases, 9th Circuit Rules

Attorneys aren’t precluded from fee awards in civil rights cases where they represent their spouses, the 9th Circuit has ruled. A lawyer who has litigated numerous attorney fee disputes says he expects an increase in cases where spouses represent spouses.
